(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 8." Just before midnight a successful trial wa3 made of tiio electric oars on a eccfcion between the Basin Reserve and Newtown. Two boilers were used at full pressure, and one 500 horse-power olcctrical engine,, working at the reduced rate of 430 volts.' Everything worked without a hitch. For a day or two. trials'will be continued, to accustom, tho motormcn tc tho work, and it is expected that by the beginning of tlio week the section from Newtown to tho foot of Cambridge terraco will bo open for ptiblio traffic.. Tho express route from Newtown to TJiorndon will not bo open for a couple of months.
