THE MILITARY CARNIVAL.
Tho military' carnival in the Garrison Hall was very well attended throughout yesterday, and in the evening the attendance was especially cheering to those at the head of tho undertaking. The management last night kept a check on the admissions, and were successful in preventing the hall being uncomfortably overcrowded, Tho feature of iho carnival was again, of course, tho many charming dances under the direction ol Bignor Borzoni. The various cWssos have new got thoroughly into their worjt, and arc pretty well perfect, the result being that there arc no delays, and the performance is time got through more exseditiously. This is a great advantage to thoao who with to patrorise the stalls, and likewise to the large nniube. , of ladies in charge of the stalls, who, whilst the dancing is on, are, of course, unable to dispose of any of their wares. At the. close of last night the total receipts amounted to £750. This afternoon there will be a matinee, for which the usual admission charge will be made.
