PRINCESS THEATRE. Mr C. B. Stanford's Dramatic Company again staged "Whei London Sleeps" before a> crowded audience in the Princess Theatre last evening. The play, which is a sensational melodrama full of life and incident, was followed throughout with the closest interest by the audience, and the close of each act \iaa marked by an emphatic recall of the principals. , ■To-night "When London Sleeps "will be repeated. . . . • ■ THE ALHAMBRA THEATRE. The admirable performance given by tha Gaiety Company at the Alhambra Theatre last evening attracted a. large attendance in the lower part oi tho building. Miss Cissy 'Whitej ford made her final appearance, and the recepi tion she got proved that she had gained many : admirers here. Mr Johnny Cowan also appeared for the last time, and his singing met with the hearty approval which it has always won during his connection, with the company. Mr Hohn's singing and the performance by the Faust Sisters were quite features of the evening, and, along with Mr Yorke, they were required to reappear. , : Mr Dix, who is always on the look-out for novelties for His patrons, will introduce tonight Mr Tom Dawson, an endman and come-' dian, who comes with a first-class reputation from the principal Australian theatres. On Saturday night "The Mintons" will make their first appearance in New Zealand; These are English artists who have just concluded a long engagement with Mr Harry Eickards They are expert ban joists, clever sketch artists, and graceful dancers, Their style of buaraesi will be entirely'new to a local audience.
