The Bank of England returns show the stock of gold, coin, and bullion to be £32,293,000; reserve, £22,273,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 46.34. The notes in circulation total £28,724,000; public deposits, £7,046,000; other deposits, £40,874,000; Government securities, £11,015,000; other securities, £35,785,000. ...
