POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY.
Mr Fred. W. Duyal, the business manager pi this ever-welcome combination, arrived last night to make arrangements for the forthcoming visit here. The opening night is fixed for Friday next, and the "initial attraction will, bo the celebrated comic opera, "La Pounce." This is the latest'addition to the " Pollarding " repertoire, p.nd it has caused quite a sensation in tho northern cities, the universal verdict being that it was not only the best thing " me Pollards " had ever done, but it was the best nllr round product-ion of comic opera- ever seen in the colony. The'season here is limited to three weeks :'iid in'lhtt time Mr Pollard will introduce'"" La Poupee," " The Belle of Now York," and the r:or^euus pantomime; "AH Baba." 'I'o make these .last two productions ns perfect as possible, there will arrive from Melbourne by the next steamer 20 young ladies from the cole-' bratcd " Williamson and Mubgrove Hoyal Ballerinas," and four new principals. These, in combination with "The Pollards," will make one of the strongest and most expensive theatrical enterprises ever planed before a New Zcwland audience. The box plan for the scaeoa will bo opened at the Dresden on' Wednesday morning, at 10 o'clock. ' „ .. ■'
