(Received August 25, at 0.30 a.m. Mahmud, the dervish. general captured by the British at the battle at Umbata in April last, declares that the Khalifa has 70,000 troops at Omdurman to do battle with the British forces. The dervishes made a further attack on the members of the Belgian expedition who survived' the massacre at Bahreljebel. The expeditionary party, after fierce fighting, repelled their assailants, losing two officers.
