Reid, i J.P.s). ; A Vicious Dog.—Joseph Renier was cnarged on tlie information of Sergeant Geerin with allowing- hJß.idog to attack Mrs Eliza.C, M'Donnell, endangoring'her?limbs, contrarj' to section' L 6 of ' i'he Dog Registration Act^ ISBo."—Defeii--3ant. pleaded not guilty.—Sergeant G-e'erin stated that on August 17 Mrs M'Donriell, who" was returning home to Port Chalmers froji Mansford Bay, was furiously attacked by de- . fendant's dog, and compelled to beat him off with a basket she was carrying. On a previous accasion the lady had been severely Ditten oy khe dog, and defendant had been informed of it and warned. The dog had also savagely attacked several other ladies. —Evidence having been given by Mrs M'Donnell and her husband [who said the dog was a mongrel fox-terrior), :orroborating the sergeant's statement, defend»nt said he was sorry the'thing had occurred, md he would dispose of the dog by giving it iway.—The Bench were quite satisfied that the log was a dangerous one. Defendant's promise to get rid of it was not sufficient. Se would be fined ss,' without costs, ana ordered so destroy the dog at once.
