It is a fact that many inventions looked upon as modern are of ancient origin. The telephone, which recently caused such a furoro of excitement, was in ancient days a means by which the high priests worked upon the credulity of their disciples. The Pyramids of Egypt and other wonders prove that this generation has a great deal to learn. Holloway's Pills and Ointment, however, were not anticipated by our forcfathora, • and to-day they stand alone as the best cure the world possesses for all the ills that humanity is heir t0.—24 The match of the future is to be made of paper, it is said, instead of wood. A QUESTION FOR THE DOCTOR. Would it not be desirable to consult the doctor as to which soap commends itself t,o our uses, as so many skins are ruined past redemption by inferior soaps? Pbabs' Soap is recommended by the highest skin authorities in the world. Dr Redwood, Ph.D., F. 0.5., F.1.C., whose opinion is unimpeachable, says: " I have never come.across another toilet soap which so closely pomes up to my ideal of; perfection."
