A TRIBUTE TO MR ROLLESTON.
!A generous tribute to the great political services of Mr Rolleston came from Mr TayI lor this afternoon. : After referring to the sincerity of the present Minister- for Lands in his efforts to promote the settlement of the land, Mr Tsiylor' remarked that it must not be .forgotten that long before Mr M'Kehzie was Minister Mr Rolleston had introduced arid placed on the Statute Book a most liberal'and advanced land law. He referred to the perpetual lease, with provision- for revaluations. Who. asked Mr Taylor, were the authors of the Education Act? tfnfortunately for Ministers, the Conservatives j in fact, the Premier was attempting to wreok ,the system. Mr Taylor referred to the Technical Schools Bill, the principle, involyedsin which would undermine the' whole education system, no matter what the Premier might say." The Premier declared that it \vould be just as reasonable for.him to say that .Mr Taylor was a traitor to the prohibition cause. .But, added Mr . Taylor, one holds- good and the other does not. ,•••■•.! • ...■•- : • '•-.•■
