POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dun«din, subject to any necessary alterations, as under : —
Overland, North, daily, 10.20 a.m. Late letters, 10.45; also on the mail van up to 11 a.m. Books and newspr-pers, 10 a.m. Late-fee letters must bear,-in addition to the ordinary postage—ld for inland letters, 2d for letters for Australia and the South Sea Islands, 23d for all other places. TUESDAY, AUGUST 23.
For northern ports, per north express, to connect with the Tarawera at Lyttelton, at 10/20 a.m. Late letters, 10.45.' Also, Australian Colonies, at 10 a.m. Late letters, 10.45, and mail van, north express, 11 a.m.
For northern ports, per Mafaroa, at 1.30 p.m. Lats letters guard a van, Port train, at 2 30 p.m. . : ,
For Capetown, from Melbourne, per Lund's iinsr Warrigal, 9th September.
Owing to alteration of the train service, mails for the Catlins district will now close' on Thursday, at 8.50 p.m., instead of Friday morning. (Signed) Edm. Cook, Chief Postmaster.
