Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices ruled as under at their auction sale en Monday: — Oats. —For the lines on offer there was littlo demand from the buyers present, and the bulk was passed in. A fair demand exists for shipping' lines, and all on offer were afterwards cleared privately, at—For good to best feed, 2s Id to 2s ljd; medium, Is lid to 2s per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. —No move to report in" the market for milling wheat. Fowl wheat sells at—For good whole wheat, 3s to 3s 3d; medium, 2s 6d to 2s lOd per bushel (sacks in). Potatoes. — All on offer met good competition and were cleared at £7 per ton, being an advance of about 5s per ton on last week's rates. . . Chaff.—The market is still well supplied, and anything but prime quality is difficult to place.- We sold best oaten sheaf at £3 7s 6d to £3 10s; one truck extra heavy, to £3 12s; medium, £2 17s 6d to £3 23 6d per ton (bags extra). Messrs Dalgety and Cc (Limited) report having held their usual weekly auction sale, when there was a fair attendance of buyers. Oats.—We offered a small catalogue of inferior to good feed, and sold most of the lines at the following prices: —Good to best feed, 2s Id to 2s ljd; fair to medium, Is lid to 2s OJd; inferior, Is 6S to Is lOd. "Wheat.—Several lines of fowl wheat were submitted, and brought.from 3s to 3s Id. Potatoes.—There has been a better inquiry during the last week, and several lines were sold at auction at up to £7. Chaff. —The market is still over-supplied with light and inferior qualities, which has a tendency to teep the price of good down. We quote prime, £3. 7s 6d to £3 10s; fair to medium, £3 to £3 6s; light and inferior, £2 12s 6d to £2 17s 6d.
