Payne (of Stewart, and ; Payne) did not write out any resolution | for me. I read same over to him instead. The whole responsibility of the petition to the 7'rani Company, the deputation to the. chairman of directors, calling the ratepayers meeting, at which some 200 were present, framing resolution and . moving it, rests upon ,my shoulders.—l am, etc., • • . . .. • , ■ ■ .
