RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION.

WELLINGTON, August 22^ I The Public Works department has received instructions to proceed'at once with the construction of the railway between Blenheim and tile Awatere, a distance of about 15 miles. The work is to be carried ! 1 out on co-operative principles under the supervision of Mr S. J. Harding, at present assistant engineer for the Public Works department at Hunterville. The terminus .will be about the centre of the Starborough ! estate, recently purchased by the Govern- j ment for close settlement.
