DUNEDIN HOESE SALEYARDS .-WEEKLY REPORT. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows:— , Business at this wecx's sale was very slack, but this was due to the unsuitability of the horses forward, and not to any falling off in the demand. Most of the draughts entered were aged, and some were of very indifferent class. For these reasons the amount of business done under the hammer was small, but aft;r the sale a few deals were effected privately. There was no scarcity of buyers for young, powerful draught mares and geldings, suitable for town work, and for useful young plough horses, and consignments of these can be strongly recommended for this market. The principal sales in the draught horse class were as follow: —Good six-year-old mare at £44; two good aged geldings, the one at £33' and the other at £29; and several of medium class at from £20 to £28. There were no good hacka or light harness horses forward this week. Referring to the announcement in last week's report regarding the sale of the Glenkenich stud of Clydesdale horses on the Bth prox. it has been decided by Mr J. R. Mackenzie that it is to be held at our Gore Bazaar Bazaar instead of at the homestead as at first intimated. This alteration will prove a .'great convenience to intending purchasers. We quote: Superior draught geldings, young, £35 to £40; extra good a few pounds more; superior young draught mares and fillies, £40 to £50, prize mares and fillies, £60 to £100; ordinary draught maros and geldings, £25 to £34; aged draught mares and geldings, £14 to £20; young carriage and cavalry horses, £20 to £30; well-matched carriage pairs, £50 to £80; strong spring-cart horses (young), £16 to £25; ordinary hacks and light-harness horses, £S to £14; weedy and aged hacks and harness horses, £2 to £5.
