AUCKLAND, August 20.
At the inquest touching the death of Alexander M'Clintock, formerly a schoolmaster, "whose body was found on the beach, a verdict was returned of found drowned. .
CHRISTCEUKCH, August 20. Two more sudden deaths have occurred, making seven in Ohristcburch since last Saturday. A labourer named George Knaggs, while.having tea in the Foresters'. Hotel last evening, fell dead ; and John Stevenson, 70 years of age, was found dead in his bed yesterday. The last-named was said to hav,e considerable property, and is believed to have-a wife living in Dunedin. The death,is announced: of another early settler, Thomas Hancock,- aged 86> who arrived, here in 1862.
A boy named Hargreaves, whose parents live at Caversham, sustained a compound fracture, of the right leg above the ankle in. the Glen road quarry, Mornington, yesterday afternoon. Along with some other, boys of his own size he. was playing in the quarry when a crane seems to have fallen over on him with the result stated. The little suf 7 ferer was picked ,up by a passing vehicle and conveyed home. ~ >
