— Herr Appunn, of Hanau, has invented a bell of a new shape, which is to have a deep tone, and to be as powerful as considerably heavier bells of the form at present in vogue., The shape is peculiar, being hemispherical, while the metal is uniform :n thickness except near the sound bow. From the edge to some little distance above the sound bow the metal is very thick, and then alters suddenly to the uniform thickness which it has for the rest of the bell. The following testimonial speaks for itself: Mr Alexander Miller (the well-known vocalist, Christohurch) writes' —-"I was induced to try your Cinnamon Cure for a severe cold, from which I was suffering, and found extreme relief therefrom. Shortly afterwards I administered a few doses to a youngster of mine who was suffering from croup. The spasms were almost immediately relieved, and the following morning he appeared to be extremely well." v*. P. Townend, pharmaceutical chemist, 183 Colombo street, Christch.urch.—Advt.
