SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Wskari School Committee was held in the- schoolhouße on Monday/evening, and attended by Messrs Aitken (chairman), Early, Robertson, Sewell, and "Wright. A circular was received from the Luwrenca High Sobool Committee advocating a new mode of electing members of Education Board, Consider&tion was postponed till next meeting. Accounts amounting to £10 were passed for payment. Mr Passmore offered to contribute £5 towards aspbalting the ground on the south side of the school if the committee should raise sufficient money for that purpose. The monthly meetinc of the St. Leonards School Committee was held on Monday night. The inspector's report was considered of a very satisfactory nature. A circular was received from the Lawrence District High School Committee requesting the co-operation of the committee in urging the Minister for Education to reintroduce the Local Boards Constitution Reform Bill, and, if passed, to allow it to come into operation a« early as possible. After some discussion it was agreed that the committtj cooperate with the Lawrence committee in the matter. The Chaiimau stated that the articles wore eoiniog in freely for. the bszaar, and that Mr B. G. Allen, M.H.R., had consented to open it.
