(Fkom Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, September 6. Mr Ronayne, who has returned to Wellington irom his southern trip, asys that the varions lines which he want over are bsing efficiently worked, .and he was much pleased with the efficiency1 of several of the departments. Tbe men in the workshops at Addington and Hillside are on full time, and tha department hopes to increase the rolling stock so as to be able to cope very satisfactorily with the large quantity of grain which will ba placed on toe railways next season. Mr Eonayne expects that the grain traffic will be heavier than ib has beon for years. He is fully satisfied with the way in which the new gas lighting apparatus in the bogey carriages i 3 working, and it is intended to place similar lights iv all the new cars. I learn that increased facilities are about to be provided at the Government railway station here. The increase of traffic of recent years has made the present accommodation altogether inadequate, sa that a new building is to ba erected for the district trains manager and the assist&at enginesr.
