Hamapn's band supplied the muaic, and the decorations were by Mr Sutton. Mr S. Lean's catering gaTO every satisfaction. Surgeon-captain Will continued his ambulance lectures to the Engineers on Monday evening last, taking for his subject the various methods of lifting acd carrying the woandotl. After the lecture members wera practised in stretcher drill and bandaging. The doctor proposes to takenp camp hygiene for next Monday. The ordinary fortnightly lecture to the electrical section was given on Thursday evening by Sergeint-major Wall. A syllabus has been drawn tip for alternate instruction in telegraphy and land mmmg1, and the subject for the evening was land mining, the instructor giving general itemß and uses of the various explosives. The fortnightly meeting of the Port Chalmers Congregational Church Band of Hope'was held on Friday evening, and notwithstanding the very inclement weather which prevailed there was an excslleat attendance of members and their friends. An excellent aud appropriate programme, consisting of choruses, addresses, readings, recitations, and solos, was pone through with credit to all wfc.o took part, a duet and recitation by two little visitors—Maggie and Afffie Reid, of Kavensbourne— being especially wall received. This society continues to mako steady progress, and now numbers some cQp children, exclusive of adalfcs.
