At Glenroy, where tha rise was unparalleled, a settler named Paseoe was seen on the top of a house, which afterwards disappeared, and it is believed that he was drowned. Myriads of insects destroyed what Utile vegetation the floods spared. The divers report that the ferry steamer Pearl was terribly smashed. Her boilers have disappeared, and there are no sigos of any of the bodies. The magisterial inquiry has begun,
