WELM^fiTON, March 11. On Biturday i'ght tieutenaat' colonel Newall's residence was entered _by burglars, who locked his bedroom door and rt'Jle feh clotbo-;, but wer? disturbfid before they go!, much Spoil. This morniug a gang of four raided tha house of Mr W. H. Field, captain of the Star Boating Club. Hearing tbem in the j house, he gave them chase along Wellington terrace barefooted, but on one. presenting a revolver and threatening to .flre Mr Field des'sted. The police were, alarmed, but tbe men in the meant'tnia had disappeared. The) had ransacked the house; but were unable to carry anything off. , , Chbistcbubch, March 11. A number of burglaries have been reported lately, and to-night two boys, about 12 years of age, were arreSted on a charge of being conearned in .four of them.. Most of the stolen property was found at the homes of the boys.
