THE HOSPITAL.
TO THE EDITOIC.
Si.R, —Upon opening the Daily Times this morning I was greatly astonished at seeing my name mentioned by Mr Wills, whose statements are entirely incorrect in every particular. I have no grievance against the hospital. I did not volunteer my services. I was asked to serve on the jury, and although otherwise engaged, I went. At the same time I did noi; want to go. I never attempted to lead the jury in auy way, but from the evidence we heard we, as men, could do no ' other than add the rider we did to our verdict. It is to be hoped future juries will not be deterred from; giving their verdicts freely on hospital cases through fear of having their names brought prominently before the public through the newspapers. Let the public make any inquiries in this particular case, and they will see what reliance is to be placed upon Mr "Wills' public \ statements. In the interest of fair play, Sir, 1 1 ask you to publish this.—l am, &c, ' Dunedin, October 21. \Y. Lloyd.
