THE 'FRISCO SERVICE.

(Received October 21. at 12.10 p.m.) Postmaster-general Kidd has received a cable from Postmaster-general Ward explaining the amount paid by New Zealand towards the San Francisco service. Ke is consulting with the Premier on the subject. Mr Ward's last message is regarded as more satisfactory, but still wanting m completeness.

It. Wellington, October 21. Postmaster-general Ward has informed the Postmaster-general of New South Wales that JSew^eaknd is paying the contractors to the ban Francisco service about L7OOO a year in addition to L6OOO for the American and Atlantic transits. Mr Ward auds laat he would regret exceedingly should the service be abandoned, and expresses the hope that a similar feeling is also shared by Postmaster.general Kidd.
