A MISSTATEMENT.—ALLAN v. DALLAS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —By the report of the Clutha County I Council's meeting I notice Mr Dallas charges I me with making a false claim for damages, alleging that the only cattle 1 lost were four or five calves starved to death, which I have undoubted evidence to show is quite untrue, and I ask Mr Dallas to publicly retract his statement through the medium of your paper to save further trouble and unnecessary expense. Hoping the council will boar in mind that I am not suing for loss of cattle, but taking forcible possession and damaging my property,— I am, &c, Woodlands, October 19. James Allan.
