Wellington, October 20.

A Native was killed while bush-felling on Sir Walter Buller's station at Ohau to-day. A man named Quinn, who was working with the Native, was also severely injured, and was brought into Wellington Hospital to-night. At the inquest on the body of the man named White, found dead in the Botanical Gardens yesterday, an open verdict was returned. It was proved that the phial picked up alongside the body contained prussic acid.

A young man named Jonas Hardy was received into the hospital yesterday suffering from a crushed" ancle and foot, the injuries being sustained through a wheel, which was being lifted on to a lory, falling and catching him in its descent.
