POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin (subject to any necessary alterations) as under :— For Northern Ports, overland, daily at 10.30 a.m., C.P.O. Late letters, mail van, North train, at 11 a.m. Tins Day (Thursday), March 31. For Westport, per Wareatea, at 3 p.m. For New South Wales and Queensland (to connect with the Wakatipu at Lyttelton), at 10 a.m, Late letters mail van, North express-, at 11 a.m. FEDERAL SERVICE. For Southland, Australian Colonies (via Hobart), India, China, Japan, Continent of Europe, per Tare, wera, at 2.50 p.m. Money orders, registered letters, and newspapers at 1.50 p.m. Late letters, guard's van, Port train, at 3.35 p.m. For the United Kingdom, &c, at 2.30 p.m., to connect with the P. and O. steamer leaving JMelbourno on the 12th April. Due in London 17th May. Friday*, April 1. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. The Doric will leave Lyttelton for Plymouth, via Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday, April 2. Mails close here as under :— For the United Kingdom and foreign countries, via the United Kingdom, &c., on Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m. * Money orders at 4 p.m. and registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on Thursday, 31st March. Book packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. on Friday, Ist April. Late letters, bearing an additional single rate of postage (2_d) as a late fee can be posted in the mail van attached to the North train, leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on the Ist April. The above mail will close at the branch post office, Dunedin North, for money orders at _ p.m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 31st ; letters at 9.30 a.m. and newspapers at 5 a.m. on on the Ist. At the South Dunedin office, for money orders at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 31st; letters at 9.30 a.m., and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the Ist. At the Port Chalmers office at 5 a.m. on the Ist, money orders at 4 p.m., and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 31st. Parcels for the United Kingdom, per Doric, will close at 9.30 a.m.
The above mailwill be due in London on 12th May.
