AQUATICS,
A meeting of the Dunedin Regatta Committee was held last evening in Mr Myers' rooms, when the preliminary programme for the regatta on the 12th March was drawn up. There are to be three yacht races for yachts respectively under three tons, over three and under five tons, and five tons and upwards ; also, three races for open boats of the classes 16ft long and under, over 16ft up to 20ft, and an all-comers' race. It was decided to advertise for tenders for the rights to the regatta programme. Mr Alex. Purdie, the secretary, tendered his resignation owing to his removal to the Thames, Auckland. Mr W. L. Hooper was unanimously elected to fill the vacant post. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Purdie for his exertions in connection with the regatta. A match will be sailed lsetween the yachts Premier and AVinifred about the end of this month. This race should furnish a little excitement to those interested in aquatic matters.
