(From Ode Own Correspondent.) Balclutha, January 14; The Hon. John M'Kenzie is going to address j±he people here next.Tuesday. The requisition to him was rather a meagre one, but the promoters were promised a requisition bearing some hundreds of signatures providing the member for the district be permitted to reply to the Minister's statements from the platform. Upom the suggestion being explained to Mr Th«mas Mackenzie he expressed his willingness to meet the weighty Hon. John, and he further promised to pay the cost of bringing out a capable reporter to report fully the debate. No arrangement has yet been come to as far as can be learned, but the people here are very desirous of hearing both sides from the same platform.
