OUR VOLUNTEERS.

On Saturday afternoon last a match was fired at the Anderson Bay range between teams from the Dunedin Engineers and the Peninsula Nava Artillery. Rain set in shortly before the firing commenced, and although it afterwards cleared off, the ardour of the shootists, as well as other things, was considerably damped. The result of the contest was a victory for the Engineers. In the evening the members of the Engineers'team were entertained by Captain and Mrs Beal at The Anchorage, Vauxhall, and a most enjoyable time was spent, three hearty cheers being given by the men for their host and hostess previous to returning to town. .
