As the demand for our Manures this Season, consequent upon NINE YEARS' INCREASING SUCCESS, will he unprecedentedly large, early application will be necessary to secure supply. CAUTION. AYe have to request all Buyers of our Manure TO USE THEJI ALONE, And not on any account to mix them with the productions of other Blakers, OR THEIR FERTILIZING PROPERTIES MAY BE ENTIRELY DESTROYED. EVERY SACK AVILL BEAR OUR NAJIE And » KIWI TRADE MARK," And any porson found USING OUR BRANDED BAGS For Jlanures not made by ourselves AVILL BE PROSECUTED. N.B.—LIME SHOULD NEA'ER BE USED AVITH ANY OF OUR MANURES. OUR SPECIALLY PREPARED FINE BONEDUST Is made to chemically mix with our SUPERPHOSPHATE, But we particularly request that it SHOULD ONLY BE USED AVITH OUR OAVN PRODUCTION To ensure certain good results. From Customers of ours who have also used imported Jlanures alongside of them, we are informed that ours always show best results, and over a far longer period are the eifects evident. All we ask is that Buyers should test them in this way. (From the Clutha Leader of the 25th September 1891.) Jlr Joseph Smith, jun., read a paper on "Pastoral Farming" before a recent meeting of tho Stirling Literary Society, iv which he refers to Manures as under:— "A few words upon manures. The kind most suitable for turnips of course depends entirely on the condition of the land. If the land be poor, either naturally or by overcropping, you have no better opportunity of showing it your kindness. The turnip land nearest the homestead may be well manured from the farmyard for the sake of convenience, and the artificial manures can he used on the land farthest away, thereby saving a good deal in the way of carting. A Alien stockyard manure is used I think it should be ploughed in at the first ploughing, so that by tho time the turnips are sown it will have become well mixed with the soil and thoroughly rotted. The quantity usually applied is from 10 to 12 tons per acre. Artificial manures are usually applied at sowing time, and as there is diversity of opinion as to which of them is best, I shall mention a few. Bonedust: Its action on the soil and its power to produce a large turnip crop is well known to farmers. The quantity allowed per acre is from 2cwt to 3cwt. Being a heat-producer the smaller it is ground the more useful it is as a manure Then guano has proved au excellent manure for turnips, and being cheaper than bonedust is more generally used. But thk SUPERPHOSPHATE OF LIME MAXUI-'ACTURED BY KKMPTIIOIiXE, PIIOSSEIf, AND Co., I HAVE FOUND TO BE THE IIEST AND THE CHEAPEST IN THE LONG iiun. Its lasting effects on the land have beeu apparent for a greater length of tim_ after its application than either of the other two." ALL OUR JIANURES ANALYSED By PROFESSOR BLACK and MR POND, Public Analysts. AT OUR CHEMICAL AVORKS IN THE NORTH ISLAND (AUCKLAND) AVo have a very large demand for our SPECIAL POTATO, CORN, ORCHARD, VINE, MAIZE, And OTHER SPECIAL JIANURES. These Jlanures contain suitable quantities of soluble phosphates and ammonia to secure a vigorous start, and a sufficiency of potash and other salts—soluble and insoluble—necessary for successful growth. AA'e are now able to supply from our Burnside AA-orks Jlanures to suit all classes of Crops. AA'heu any Special Manure is required, the class of crop it is to be used for, and the nature of the soil should be stated, so as to get the Mauure most suitable. N.B.—Persons using our Jlanures do Not Run Any Risk of Losing a Season's Crop, unless in case of drought wherein seed lack the necessary moisture to germinate.
