BOWLING.
A meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association was held in the Grand Hotel last night, and attended by Messrs AA r. Carlton (in the chair), James Hislop, P. Dow, C. Haynes, T. R. Dodds, F. Peake, J. Gibson, Thomas Moodie, and G. Capstick (hon. secretary). A letter was read notifying the appointment of Mr T. R. Dodds as a delegate to represent the Sydenham Bowling Club.—Received. The Secretary of the AVellington Bowling Club wrote that, owing to an association being started for the North Island, they would no longer belong to the New Zealand Bowling Association. —Received. A letter was read from Mr B. Hale, president of the association, stating that a meeting of officers and delegates of the Canterbury, Christchurch, and Sydenham Clubs was held, when the programme of the forthcoming tournament was considered. It was suggested that the Rink Tournament be commenced on Monday afternoon, the first day, and that interclub matches be arranged as the players fall out of the Rink Tournament and the single-handed match. Mr AA'. Carlton formally moved that the draft programme be adopted, and in doing so pointed out that the former resolutions from Christchurch recommended "that more prominence be given to interclub matches." Mr Dodds seconded the motion, which was carried. The following were the interclub matches arranged to be played on the first day of the tournament:— 10.30 a.m.—Dunedin v. Canterbury and Invercargill, Kaituna v. Timaru and AVellington, Roslyn v. Christchurch, Caledonian v. Sydenham. 2.30 p.m.—Christchurch v. Dunedin, Caledonian v. Canterbury, Roslyn v. Sydenham, Kaituna v. Invercargill and Lawrence, Green Island v. Timaru. On the fifth day.—Caledonian v. Christchurch, Roslyn v. Canterbury.
