THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.

London, July 15. In the match against the Players of England on the 14th insfc. at Sheffield the weather was fine and the wicket perfect. The Home team went in first, and made 221, Ulyett contributing 6, Shrewsbury G5, Gunn 43, Chatterton 41, Lohmann 11, and Maurice Head 20. Ferris took two wickets for 44, Trott two for 28, and Lyons five for 42. The Australians were got rid of for 91, Lyons contributing 11, Murdoch, Blackham, and Turner each a single, Barratt 5, Gregory 11, Charlton 14, Jones J..6, Trott 16. Jones, Turner, and Blackham were injured. ■ "July 17. In the first innings of Australia Attewell took five wickets for 6 runs, Peel three for 25, and Lohmann fonr for 34, The Australians in their second venture made 161; Lyons and Jones being dismissed for a duck, while Barrett contributed 4, Murdoch 20, Trott 17, Gregory 3, Turner 35, Charlton 20, Trumble G, ITerris 8, and Blackham (not out) 3.Q, the extras being 6. Attewell took three wickets for 53, Peel two for 21, and Wainwright three for 34. The Players won by five wickets. The attendance was small. In the match against All-England, the Home country will be represented by W. G. Grace, W. W.
