10 Title EDITOII. SIR,-I think it is very hard of the councils of Dunedin and suburbs charging tha people, especially ratepajerß, 10b per head for dogs. I have had two dogs for the last 10 years, and paid the lax for them every year. Being then in conitnut work, I could aff.ird it; now I am icilo, and hava to pay rates as well, it comes very hwd on mo. I don twantio part with the <log« now, they having served me so faithfully. Why can't they charge f>a for dog*, like the North-Kast Valley borouulj (I thiiiklhatls tho ono) ? They would be just as well oIT.
