SECONDARY SCHOOLS CONFERENCE, Tho first meeting of the Secondarj’ Schools Conference of New Zealand took place this morning at tho Girls’ College. Thero were present : The rectors of Dunedin, Waitaki, and Timaru High Schools, the principals of Auckland College, Wellington and Otago Girls’ High Schools, and Bishopdale College and Nelson College for Girls, and the head masters of Christchurch, Akaroa, and Napier Schools. Mr Halkctt Dawson, of Timaru High School, was unanimously elected president. He delivered an inaugural address of some length. The subjects chictly discussed to-day were those t-.iising out of the n latimi-hip between the- university and secondary schools.
