Blenheim, July 21. Sir Hubert Stout addressed a meeting of elec" tors and non-electors here to-night. The building was crowded. The speech was chiefly devoted to a defence of the village settlements scheme and the education system. He declared hu would rather retire than give way on the questions of laud settlement and education. Mr H. Dodson proposed a voto of thanks, and Mr G. Henderson seconded it. Mr S. J. Macalistcr proposed as an amendment a voto of thanks and confidence, which was carried. Sir R. Stout was heartily cheered. He left for Wellington immediately after the meeting.
