The annual meeting of the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company was held this evening, and the proceedings wore ol v lively character. Charges of neglect mid mismanagement were levelled against the directors, also charges of wasting the company s funds and loss of property through proper care not being taken of it. The chairman ol directors denied the charges, but it was ultimately agreed to appoint a committee to mako lull inquiry as to the charges and also to examine the books and vouchers of the company. Consideration ot the annual report and balance sheet was postponed and tho meeting adjourned ior a tortnight, by which lime it is expected the committee will report.
