The agitation by the unemployed is recommencing here. About 400" men assembled to-day and interviewed the Miniates for Public Works with a view to obtaining employment.

Tho manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand reports as follows of the local grain market:—Shipping wheat is steady, but not in active demand at 3s lOd to 3s lid; malting barley is in more demand at a slight improvement on quotations, from 4s !ld to 5s 9d ; Now Zealand oats (feeding sorts) arc in fair demand at 2s lOd to ;'s; milling oats are in moderate inquiry at 2s lid to 3s; New Zealand oats (under bond) are quiet, at 2s to 2s 2d.
