LACROSSE.

The Dunedin Club iv a match at Tahnna Park on Saturday afternoou brought their spring season to a close. The teams were captained by T. W. Orr and W. J. M'Kerrow respectively.

The play during the first spell was very interesting, the members on both sides working hard, and so even was the game that although the ball was in close proximity to the goals on several occasions the defence was so good that no ■score was marked.

In the second spell, soon after the start Martin took the ball and passed well to T. Watson, who with a beautiful throw low down secured a goal for Orr. After facing again some good play resulted on both sides, but M'Kerrow catching the ball very prettily from one of his opponents, threw it right down to his opponents' goal, where Johnston clovcrly secured a goal for him. Facing off again the ball was quickly taken up tho field by Martin and passed to T. Watson, who threw with good judgment another goal for Orr.

The ball on being faced again was passed beautifully by M'Kerrow down close to Orr's goal, where some good play was shown, but Orr and Y. Wales worked the ball so well together, that they soon relieved their side of the danger. The ball was soon returned, only to be sent flying up the field again by one of Orr's brilliant throws, and T. Watson securing it from Holmes, threw another goal for his side. Facing off again, the ball was once more sent down the ground in close proximity to Orr's goal, where some passing by Borrow, Johnston, Howie, and Macfarlaue was exceedingly good, but Wales and Orr coming to the rescue of their side managed to pass the ball to Handera, who with a capital run passed to T. Watson. The latter, with a swift, low throw, then secured a fourth goal for Orr. This brought the match to a close, Orr's side winning by four goals to M'Kerrow's one.

In addition to those mentioned, the following did good service for their sides, viz., Green, Stephenson, M'Gregor, T. A. Watson, Sleigh, Gualter, Oddie, Paul, and Monkman.

The club will resume their matches in March next.
