TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Will you kindly insert in your columns the arbitrary clauses in the Patent Act relating to bringing the invention into actual and public use within two years? In nine patents out of ten the Government receives patentees' money under false pretences, and the applicant being the inventor, not the manufacturer, pays his money. At the expiration of two years his patent ia void, and he loses his invention. Next session these clauses ought to be repealed, or give the Governor-in-Council power to suspend the clauses in the case of an applicant being the inventor applying for a patent or registering a patent,—l am, &c, William Buskin, Maclaggan street.
