Firstly-- Tho BERH AMPORE T ANNERY; comprises sections 1013 and parts of sections 1011,1014, and 1016, on plan of tho city of Wellington, containing three acres (more or leas); is distant two and a-half miles from the Queen's Wharf, and within half-mi'e from the tramway termlnuß. The tramwayline has been surveyed for continuing the tramway past tho tannery. The buildings consist of large currying, rolling, and drying - shed (two s oreys), beam - ehed, scouring-shed, plnning-Bhod, waxing-room, battened, hide-shed, engine and boilershed, storeroom, office, &c, &c, and all appurtenances, Including 60 pits and spenders, necessary for the carrying on of a large tanning business. The tannery hss been established nearly 40 yeara. As a tannery site it is unsurpassed in New Zsalind. There is a never-failing supply of clear water from a running Btieam. No recourse to artificial means for drying is necessary. The drainage is carried Into Cook Strait, therefore at no time can it become a nuisance.
