WITH BLUFF.

TO THK EDITOR. Sir,—The project! of connecting this district with Blufl Hartnur by means of a canal has been frequently mooted, but through lack of energy and enterprise nothing has yet been done. I believe Mr Conyers has been deputed to make a flj ing survey and many will anxiously look forward to tho result of his exploration?. If his report is favourable, I should suggest that a public meeting be convened at EYrtroso, and the matter carofu'ly gone ioto. Prom various conversations with residents in the ToliTol3 district there appears a unanimity cf feeling that this route would bo the most aceaptab'.e to the district. As the residents of Chmpbelltown are also greatly interested, they should set us an example and have a meeting as soon as the result of Mr Conyers' trip iB known, as I feel singuine it cannot bo otherwise than favourable. There are a number of facts to be urged in favour of the scheme, but they will ba better expressed at a meeting than over the noin de plume of Toi-Toia February 2*-^^^^^^^^^^^^^
