MORNING-TON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Tho ordinary meeting of the Mornington Council was held last evening. Present: His Worship the Mayor, C/s Scott, W. Campbell, C. w. Smith, K. E* Nicolson, W. Morrison, H. F. Norman, W. Carey, J. Scoular, and H. Fiapwell. WOBKS. The Works Committee reported and recommended as followB: That the inspector lay down a few loads of rotten rock in Barifleld. That Sir Howeli's Blip in Durk stitet be removed, and also ;bat tho grade as at present metalled be continued on to where the Blip Started; total cost not to exceed £6 10a. That the Committee have inspected the Hon. Mr Reynolds' property with regard to his complaint about drainage, but cannot devise any practicable echeme at present that will meet the case.—The report was adopted. FINAKCE. The Financo Comtmttto teportcd that the bank ovcrdiaft at present was £1245 139 ltd. Accaunt9 amounting to £15 is lid wee recommended for pajinsnt. The Coian>lttec recommended that legal proceedings bo taken iuraitsi owners of doge who do not pay the tax by the 10;h iost. Keport adopted. CORKKWCNDENCE. D. Skcnc wrote asking foi the continuation of a footpath on part of Slar>hill terrace.—Koferred to mspu'tor. with power to act. D. O. Jlitbesozi wrote asking that the asphalt in front cl his perukes might bj repaiied.—Keferred to Works Uainmiltee. R. Thomson' and Colin Allan wrote asking that something might be done to the Ealioton road, C-irisbrook.-Keferred to Works Committeo. Mrs Antell wrote anklng permitsion to form a right-cf-way through he property, Williamsburgh.— Permission granted. ENCROACHMENTS ON NIDPATH ROAD. It was ecsoived, on the motion cl Councillor Morrison—"That the town clerk Instruct owners of aec.ious encroaching on Nidpath road t3 remove their encroachments within 21 days, failing which legal proceeding!) to be taken."
