Sir,—ln answer to " Weeping Gum," I have 4<> inform him tliat Sir Scott's champion ia a pontloiiian—not a liuly. He (" Weeping Gum") is ovidcntly, at any rate, not » young man from Victoria, or he would have known what " sheoak" iiioant. I think a pint, or for that matter a quart, of it might do him somn good and calm his nerves, "f have signed "IMS." this time to avoid a similar mistake. As it would be only a waste of time to prolong the disoussion, I can only say that I did what I considered to bo a duty to a friond who might lie thoughtless, but whom I knew to be innocent, and having put the case before the public t» the best of my ability, I leave it to them to judge betwoen us.—l am, <!fcc,
