Sydney, July 28th. * Arrived, last evening: Union Company's s.s. Wakatipu, from Wellington.
New Zealand wheat is now quoted at 4s 2d; New Zealand oats, 3s 6d ; maize, 5s 2d.
Sugar—Company's No. 1 pieces, per ton, £35.
An inquiry is being held to ascertain the cause of the fire which occurred at Maitland on the 25th inst., by which three racehorsos were destroyed. The Jury found that tho fire was the work of incendiaries. No arrests, however, have yet been made. Adelaide, July 28th.
Wheat has advanced Gd per bushel, and is now very firm at 7s. -Flour has advanced 10s per ton—town brands, £14 10s ; country ditto, £1310s. The freight market is stagnant, and no business is doing. Hobart, July 28th. The Japanese warship Tuchaba leaves Hobart for Auckland to-morrow evening. Melbourne, July 28th. (Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association.) London, July 27th-—Arrived : Ships Loch Linnhe, from Port Chalmers (April 22nd); Druse Srodersen, from Lyttelton (March 10th) ; Roman Emperor, frum Lyttelton (April 18th).
