THE LAND BOARD

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held in the Bpard's office, Government Buildings, yesterday. Present-The.Chief Commissioner (J. P. Maitland, Esq.), Messrs Bradshaw, Green, Clark,' Reeves, and Bathgate. '

Commissioxkr asked the Board to consider whether a c:ause should be inserted in the conditions of the sale of certain runs compelling the lessee to put and .maintain a certain number of sheep on themand the Board resolved that, in accordance with the recommendation contaiued in the Government memorandum; that leases for 10 years of the following runs be: offered at auction, subject to the approval of the Government: -No. 416, Wakatipu, 74,000 acres, at £20 with provision that the purchaser put on at least 1000 sheep or 150 head of cattle within 12 months and maintain the same upon the run; Run 426 ,Manipori, 3000 acres, at £5, 300 sheep or 50 head of cattle ; Run 431, Greenstone, 15,000 acres, at £5 300 sheep-or 50 head of cattle; Run 436, Waikaia 34 000 acres, at £20, 2000 sheep or 350 head of cattle'; Run 438, Eyre Peak, 37,000 acres, £10, 750 sheep or 120 head of cattle; Run 470, Red Mountain, 10,000 acres £5 300 sheep or. 50 head of cattle.. - -:A ' .',;-..-_:■.■;;: EAST CORE. , : A report was received from Ranger Campbell respecting the nature of deferred-payment (suburban) sections in East1 Gore, and the Board resolved to recommend the Government to open the sections on deferred payment. ; .
