Sir—ln (he lending article this morning I was glad to sec that you had takcu a determined Btand against Sabbatarian legislation, and also that you did not wish to deprive the working-clauses of their seventh day's rest; but I must confess that I cahnofc understand why no one baa yet taken up the case of poor Lockwood, who, a short time ago, was made a scapegoat and fl eced to the tune of about £10—a rather serious matter to a,poor man—and I really do think that a subscription list at your office would bring a few pounds together easily. I for one wouJd be glad to snlweribe, and I know many more. If you do not mind taking the hints, you may put mo down for ten.shilling?.' —1 am, &c, Kknt.
