KAISER'S £IOOO REWARD.
HAVOC OF BRITISH ARMORED : trains.. / (By Kenneth Ivinninmont. Exnress 1 Special Correspondent.) North F ranee, - . Sunday, November 22. -Almost incredible as it may seem, the Kaiser has offered a rewaril of £IOOO ror the body, dead or alive, of the officer commanding or directing the arTiored trains which have done so much to hamper the operations of the Germans;
Jhe information about the reward reached the commander himself from a German prisoner who was brought into Funics three days ago. Largo as the amount may appear it is small in comparison with the damage—nioral as well as material—done to~the German troops by the armored trains, and the Kaiser would, doubtless, consider even 20,000 marks well spent if it could rid him of such an obstacle to lu's advance.
Apparently, however, the Kaiser has overlooked the possibility that, even if he could catch the commander of the trains, plenty of other British ofiicers would be ready to take his place. T he very fact of so large a reward being oflcred shovrs t-o what an exent the good shooting from the trains must .lave affected the German operations; and the apparent impossibility of ever doing any serious harm to so mobile an enemy must be exasperating •to the German generals. So -far ( the trains themselves and then- gu'miers have escaped almost uninjured, but the damage they have done is known to their cost by the Germans who have come within range of the trams' <?uns. ...^7 I the commander how he liked having a price put on his head, he merely smiled—ho is a man of few words. Presently though, in a burst, of expansiveness, he. said, "That's all right—l ve sent for three more guns."
