WRONG ADDRESS TO THE KING.

During the visit of their Majesties, the town clerk read a civic address of welcome. The Right Hon. Thomas M'Kimion Wood (Secretary for Scotland) handed the King a reply'thereto. His Majesty began to read, and after he had read" a. few words looked puzzler], and realised that something was wrong. He found that Mr Wood had given him the wrong reply. Their Majesties and all present burst into heartv laughter at the contretemps.
