Goldie, Chairman of the Methodist "missions'in the Solomon Islands, reported that a visit to Ontongiava disclosed that native converts were being cruelly persecuted, their property was being devastated and food for the"relief of sufferers was being intercepted. Mr Goldie on landing was surrounded by hundreds of hostile natives and threatened with uplifted weapons. The Commissioner of the Solomons has promised an investigation.
