In walking off tlie stage . «t it* conclusion, the writer thought "The Nobbies" wore putting themselves to a. lot of unnecessary 'trouble,"as their immediate, return was instantly demanded. Tlie first part of tlie programme, consisting as it did, ot a. variety of items that would' have pleased the most exacting, was well received 1 . Miss Deuliolni had to respond to a well-deserved encore after lie.r ren(l oring of "Sing to- mo the mild' Scotch songs." In, Mr J. Donhotiu "The Nobbies" have a- splendid singer, his singing of "When 1 lost you" (eiKweiO being loudly applauded. The portion of tho programme marked l Part II was perhaps more varied than the, preceding half. "Say, wouldn't it ho a dream?" local stop press items, sung by Messrs Benson. CMbson, and Hankin meeting with approbation. Tho duet sung by Miss Denholm and Mr Rankin, "lie my Bumble* Bee'' lias only to bo heard to be appreciated'. Miss Detuhohn was again recalled, her song "Trail of tho Lonesome Pine" being followed by
"Island! of Dreams." Though all l&w performers w-oro deserving of credit, special praise, is due to Mr Denholm, for, after responding to repeated encores throughout the night, when specially asked to sing "Songs of the Old Church Choir," ho consented, and had again to respond to an encore, singing "Mother Machw." "The. Nobbies'' are well worth hearing, ami it is sufficient to say that everyone present on Friday evening enjoyed l to the full tho splendid entertainment provided. A well-attended d'anoo followed the concert.
